Manfredo Fest was a Brazilian pianist, keyboardist, and bandleader who specialized in blending bossa nova with jazz. Legally blind from birth, he was classically trained before discovering jazz through the works of George Shearing and Bill Evans. After establishing himself in Brazil, he moved to the United States in the 1970s, where he worked with Sérgio Mendes and recorded a series of albums that showcased his unique fusion of Brazilian rhythms and jazz improvisation.
