Carl Orrje is a Swedish jazz pianist with a broad musical background, educated at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and holding a master's degree from the Manhattan School of Music in New York, where he studied jazz piano under the tutelage of Kenny Barron . During his twelve-year residence in New York from 1992 to 2004, he recorded over a dozen albums, including his representative work "102 Green St. NYC," and collaborated with top-tier American jazz musicians . Since 2004, he has served as the permanent music director of a concert hall in Visby on the island of Gotland, while continuing an active career performing with his piano trio, collaborating with vocalists like Hayati Kafe, and undertaking diverse projects ranging from classical performances to composing original works for wind quintets .
