Bobby Timmons (1935–1974) was an American jazz pianist and composer whose gospel-tinged, funky style made him a key architect of the soul jazz movement. He achieved major commercial success as a sideman by composing enduring classics like "Moanin'" for Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers and "This Here" for Cannonball Adderley's band.
